Picture and Legal Documents

Well, we got a new picture of Jacob via e-mail today.  Our little Jacob is styling in his Hanbok (it is too adorable).  We also received his official "legals" today in the mail.  From what we understand the "legals" do not move us up in the process, but are being used by the agency to file for our I-600.  Anyway, check out the picture (he apparently does not like to sit still for photos - no smiles today, but it is nice to see his little face again).  We just can't wait to bring him home.

Fingerprinting Appointment

Well, we got our appointments today for fingerprints with the I-600A process!  Another step taken in this journey (puts us that much closer to bringing Jacob home).  Every time we complete a piece of this process I feel like a huge weight has been lifted (the weight gets lighter and lighter each and everyday).

Also, I guess I have a new project.  We have decided to move Mason and Jacob to what was our guest room/playroom and make Mason's room the new guestroom/playroom in our house.  That room is larger and has it's own bathroom.  As the boys grow they will need the space, so it makes sense.  They will have a huge closet and a wonderful bedroom.  I love home improvement projects and this one should be fun (can't wait to post pictures once we start).

Sweet Surprise in the Mail

Very unexpected, but wonderful surprise was in the mail for me and my husband on Saturday.  I found a beautiful necklace with a picture of Jacob on it and a wonderful poem with it.  I have been wearing this necklace everywhere every since.  We don't know who sent us the necklace or the poem, but we love it.

Here we go again

Well, you can imagine the shock and disbelief when I opened my mailbox yesterday to a rejected I-600A.  After I picked myself off the floor I read the reason and almost died.  It said due to no check being sent.  I checked to see if this was the missing I-600A but it wasn't so next call was to our social worker.

You will love the next comment from our social worker.  "Oh, there was a new person in the office who was excited to send out the FEDex docs and she forgot to mail the check so I just resent everything with the check that same day."  Oh fun...  I need to check, but I pray they paid for their mistake with the FEDex bill.  So now what do you do - you have an acceptance letter and a rejection letter (which is correct and did one cancel the other).  So, here we go again with a call to the government.  Good news, apparently the one with the check is still good and all is okay.

So, after all the fear of that being messed up again, we are back on track.  My comment to anyone adopting, just be prepared for the ups and downs (it's a rollercoaster ride, but I have no doubt the ride will be worth it in the end).  God has lead us to Jacob and he makes no mistakes - so we trust Him with our entire journey.

South Korean Legal Docs

Good news!!!  We got an e-mail this evening stating that Jacob's legal documents have been received here in the US.  Now we wait for our "Notice of Approval of Relative Immigrant Visa Petition" - doc from the US government.  Praying this means Jacob could come home sooner than estimated (continue to pray).

I-600 received

Well, the document sent in June is still missing, so we resubmitted yesterday and got a receipt number today via e-mail and text.  Just a note to those adopting, when you submit your I-600A be sure to submit form G-1145 with it (that's the form that will allow for texts and e-mails within 24 hours of receiving the I-600A, very handy).  Anyway, now we wait for fingerprints and anything else needed from us to complete the I-600 process.  So happy!!!

I-600A pains

Well, found out today (after pressing the issue) that our I-600A is missing in action.  I called our social worker and it was mailed on June 16 and arrived on June 17.  Now for the bouncing around from person to person to find out what happened - if we have to send it again that will be more money for the Fedex *which is fine with me - I just want the document there and processed so Jacob can come home*.  Anyway, just another hiccup in the system and I am sure we will resolve it soon (please pray for us - I can see why people get discouraged).
