Happy 1st Birthday!

Jacob turns 1 today.  We wish him a happy, happy 1st birthday and wish we had him here to celebrate, but we know he will be here very soon we hope and pray.  Wishing our little guy nothing but the best and a very happy birthday to him.

Rebekah praying for little brother

It was so sweet the other night when we were all saying out night time prayers and Rebekah prayed that Jacob would come home soon.  She so wants to see and meet her new little brother - it is just so sweet.  Mason has also informed us that he will play Thomas with him.  Both our children realize a new child is coming home and they are excited.  We just pray daily that Jacob grows healthy and happy and will fit into our family like he has always been here.  I know he turns 1 in a few days and I just wish we were celebrating with him.

Hep A Shot

Had my first of 2 Hep A Shots yesterday.  Wasn't as bad as I was thinking it would be - the lady who gave me the shot was great *didn't feel a thing*.  I can't say enough good things about Walgreen's Take Care Clinics (they got me in quick and they did a great job - just like they always do).  So, in 6 months I will go back for my 2nd. Hep A shot and I will be trip ready when we get our travel date to pickup Jacob.  Got to get the husband to go get his first of two - so wish me luck.

Care Package (1st of 2 we can send)

We found out that the agency Jacob is with in Korea allows us to send 2 care packages before he comes home (it is suppose to help with attachment and bonding).  I have just put together our first care package and can't wait for him to get everything we are sending him.  There are rules with the care packages - everything must fit in a gallon sized bag.  We did find out you can fit more in a gallon bag than you think if you try hard enough!  Our care package includes little red jacket, a Thomas the train sweatshirt (his brother picked for him), a soft photo album of his new family, a disposable camera, Spiderman Crocs (his sister picked for him), and a Nuby Funkeys Teething Ring.  Our social worker told me that once his care package arrives we will start to see pictures of him with our care package items (we can't wait to see that - will be so precious)!

To South Korea (our paperwork goes)!

Well, the secondary agency accepted our referral paperwork and sent what was needed to South Korea on July 8, 2011.  Everything so far has moved pretty fast, but now is the waiting.  I pray everyday that I will be patient and let God take care of the stuff out of my control (in other words, don't worry).  So hard to do.

Introducing Jacob!

We got the official acceptance referral via Fedex yesterday.  Today, we had everything signed and notarized (fun fun - can't believe everything you have to sign) then finally Fedexed overnight back.  Now we wait to go get more fingerprints and a travel date.  We do feel very relieved this part is over with.

We also got to name our little guy last night (which has been more difficult for us than naming our biological children - we are not sure why that is the case).  After careful consideration, we have decided to name our little guy Jacob.

Yippy - Official Referral on the way!

Well, we got an e-mail this evening saying our official referral is in the mail and will be here by next Tues.  Guess it is time to start gathering more documents to make everything official and accept our little man as our son.  We are so excited - just can't believe this day is almost here!
